Jason McGrew Photography

the artist

About me:

I’m Jason Wayne McGrew. I never thought I would grow up and get to be called an artist, but everyday I am so grateful that is the job title I now hold.

Grateful because I get the incredible opportunity to meet new people all the time- people who love each other. Whether a bride and groom, a family, a child… mine is the privilege to capture this love held within these beautiful people.

Grateful because I get the chance to show these people how beautiful they really are. As a photographic artist I thrive on the ‘real’- the ‘authentic’- the truly ‘organic’ qualities that every person and relationship owns. It is an honor to capture real life and true individualized beauty- all the freckles and wrinkled nose smiles that make you, well… you! And that to me and to the world is a wonderful, beautiful, God-given thing. Lucky aren’t I? That I get to show you how perfect you are. Lucky that I get to give your family and loved ones, pictures of the real, organic, beautiful you.

Grateful because when I am surrounded by people who love each other, it spills out and lifts me up too. Seeing the beauty each person possesses (inside and out) reminds me there is beauty and love to be found everywhere, in everybody. You see? My work is to create art from the real events and authentic characteristics and personalities found in all of us.

Grateful because I got the opportunity to go to a top rated photography school in Massachusetts to learn and grow from a guy with a nice camera into a guy who can call himself a professional photographer and can guarantee the work produced from every session and every event is worthy of the title ‘professional.’ My desire and vision to capture the authentic qualities and relationships with artistry won me several awards, including the highest given: The President’s Award. The Award was announced during graduation ceremonies to my wife! What an honor that the President recognized my supportive wife as a definitive part of my photographic journey. That was a special day, and an incredible schooling experience.

Lastly, I’m grateful because people like you- hire a guy like me, to allow me to continue to pursue my artistic vision and dream. So thank you.
